Turn the iron to the highest setting and allow it to heat up. Steps to fix the carpet dents. First place an ice cube in the carpet dent. Give dents the cold shoulder by placing a large ice cube or multiple cubes if you re dealing with larger indentations directly into the carpet divot.

Hold the iron 4 to 6 inches 10 to 15 cm over the carpet and apply a steady jet of steam to the affected area. Place a clean damp cloth over them and hold an iron on medium heat several. Wait 12 hours blot up wet spots then use the edge of a spoon to lift carpet fibers back up. Fill a steam iron with water.

If the dent is large or long use extra ice cubes as needed allow the ice cubes to melt. Apply steam to the area. Or steam away dents. If the dent is already set after you move the furniture try placing an ice cube in the dent and let it melt into the dent for a couple hours.

Let the ice melt for at least a few hours. Place an ice cube on the dent. Afterwards use a towel to soak up the excess water then use a spoon to fluff the carpet back up. The ice cubes will slowly melt and after 12 hours blot up any wet spots with an absorbent towel or sponge.

If the carpet has a dent that is very large or long you may need to place a couple of ice cubes to fill the spot. Remove the cloth and use a spoon to fluff up the carpet. The carpet doesn t have to be 100 percent dry slightly damp is fine.
